Man dead after shots fired in east Charlotte

A man is dead following a shooting in east Charlotte early Monday morning.

According to a statement by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers responded to investigate shots fired in the 2100 block of Milton Road near Plaza Midwood.

When officers arrived, they located a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds. Medic transported the victim to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

As of 10 a.m., No arrests have been made, and CMPD hasn’t released any suspect information at this time. The department has not released the name of the victim.
