The Charlotte Museum of History presents
Explore some of Charlotte’s history through the evolution of political cartoons. This exhibition features works from Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Kevin Siers. Sier’s work has often been in The Charlotte Obsever’s newspapers. Bob Gorrell and Popeye creator E.C. Segar are among other renowned artists whose works will also be featured.

The Charlotte Art League presents
Explore the beauty of Charlotte’s skyline, parks, landmarks and landscapes, and its people through various works from artists throughout the city. Join Charlotte Art League for its debut celebration!

In response to a previous exhibition titled “Not in Repose,” over 45 artists, who have also survived sexual assault and domestic violence, will display pieces that explore healing through art. Most of the artists identify as women.

The Harvey B. Gantt Center presents
SEEING STARS: Works from the Fischer/Shull Collection of Contemporary Art
This new exhibition includes works that comment on American race and gender relations through sculpture, painting, mixed-media and photography. Featured artists include Kehinde Wiley, Kerry James Marshall and Simone Leigh.
The Gantt will host an opening celebration with remarks from the exhibition’s curator Dexter Wimberly and will have food and music.

The University of North Carolina’s College of Arts and Architecture presents
Join graduating UNC Charlotte students as they present their final thesis projects in 2D and 3D works. These seniors will graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2D and 3D studio art and will present a variety of works through printmaking, game making and other mediums. Featured student artists include Brooke Buchanan, Otto Lucas and Tiara Mitchell.

The Levine Museum of the New South presents
Learn about the stories of Queen City’s pioneers, from civil rights activists to educators to artists. Catawba Chief Haigler, Julius Chambers and Dr. Annie Alexander are featured through photographs and keepsakes.
