Teen shot during a gathering in north Charlotte


A teen was shot during a gathering in north Charlotte on Sunday evening.

According to a tweet by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, around 6 p.m., officers were called to the 3400 block of Johnston Oehler Road in response to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.

A preliminary investigation indicates there was a large gathering at Mallard Creek Park before the shooting occurred, according to CMPD.

The juvenile victim was transported with life-threatening injuries.
