A good thing about time flying by is how fast the weekend comes. 

It seems as though January was just yesterday, and now here we are in the first week of March.

This weekend: The Morehouse College Glee Club returns to Charlotte

On Friday, this nationally renowned group will share the Belk Theater stage with the Charlotte Symphony.

The event raises money to aid Morehouse College students who live in Charlotte.

QCity Metro reporter Jalon Hill spoke with glee club conductor David E. Morrow about his journey and love for music.

Celebrate Black Women

“I Am Queen Charlotte” will be a momentous, city-wide occasion that celebrates the lives, stories and contributions of Black women in Charlotte. This is the kickoff event to Queen Charlotte Week (March 6 – March 12), which will include a curated series of arts and education events for all ages and all around the city.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame is now displaying the No. 23 car that Bubba Wallace dove to victory at the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway on Oct. 4, 2021.

That victory marked the first premier series win by a Black driver since NASCAR Hall of Famer Wendell Scott’s first-place finish at Jacksonville Speedway in 1963. It also served as the inaugural win for Michael Jordan and Denny’s Hamlin’s 23XI Racing team.

The car, along with two of Wallace’s fire suits, will be on display through Aug. 1.
