Time flies! The end of January is upon us, and we’re back with more arts, culture, and food events to get your weekend started.
Consider participating in Queen’s Feast, with dozens of restaurants in the Charlotte area participating. The annual restaurant event concludes Sunday. (I’ve made reservations for Friday at Napa at Kingsley. I can’t wait!)
There’s also a fantastic street food festival worth checking out as well.
Whether you’re looking to wind down from the week with soft jazz or cheer on your hometown Hornets as they take on the Lakers, there’s something for everyone, including the little ones.

The SET ft. Saxophonist Shane Wheeler (Thurs.): JazzArts Charlotte’s virtual live music series presents Greensboro-native saxophonist Shane Wheeler with a set of his progressive jazz originals.
Charlotte Hornets vs. Los Angeles Lakers (Fri.): LaMelo Ball and the hometown team will host LeBron James and the Lakers at the Spectrum Center. Not surprisingly, this is one of the hottest games of the season and is expected to sell out.
Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week (Fri.): Explore new dining destinations and rediscover your favorites during Queen’s Feast, running through Jan. 30. Enjoy 3-course meal deals at 70 restaurants in eight counties around the Charlotte metro area.

International Street Food Festival & Craft Market(Sat.): Taste dishes from around the world, try different beers, listen to live music, and watch or participate in the corn hole tournament at this admission-free festival.
Trolls LIVE!(Sat.): Get ready for music, glitter, comedy, and fun with Poppy, Branch, and the Trolls gang for an animated adventure featuring a unique storyline and original songs.
Meet MoLi(Sat.): Join Charlotte-Mecklenburg Library as they celebrate the arrival of MoLi, the system’s mobile library with a ribbon-cutting, storytime, and puppet show.

Jamel Shabazz has been photographing Black lives for over 40 years and his work is shown in exhibitions around the world.
This Friday at the Gantt Center, Shabazz will debut “Reflections of a People: Photographs from the Archive of Jamel Shabazz.”
The exhibition will feature more than 53 framed works and 40 additional photos in a digital slide show.
